Getting Involved in Membership
Membership hosts events and programs like caucuses, formal, and social gatherings that foster community among the members of GUCD and across all departments.
Families
Our GUCD families foster relationships across all departments open to all members who apply. This is a great opportunity to get to know fellow College Democrats outside of our usual club meetings and match you with other who share your same interests. Families are an imperative means to form deeper bonds with other members.
Spring 2023: We will not have families in the Spring since we will have few new members, but we will revive GUCD families in the fall!
Formal
GUCD hosts formal dances once a semester, typically in December and April. Formal is a great bonding event to mark the closing of a semester’s worth of teamwork working on advancing democratic politics. A night filled with dancing and fun typically hosted on the Georgetown waterfront allows our members to come together and reflect on our hard work throughout the semester and celebrate.
Spring 2023: Formal will be towards the end of April (date TBD) on a boat from around 8-10 PM!
Social Gatherings
Membership hosts social gatherings among members like picnics, cooking in the Arrupe kitchen, and other fun events that foster community between GUCD members outside of the typical general meetings or political events.
